MAZDA Unveils New Booth Design Under “JOY DRIVES LIVES” Concept
Featuring the Mazda Iconic SP Concept and Mazda6e EV at the 46th Bangkok International Motor Show 2025
Mazda is making a bold statement at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show, unveiling a new booth design inspired by the brand’s latest concept, “JOY DRIVES LIVES.” The exhibit highlights Mazda’s future-forward multi-solution approach to carbon neutrality through two cutting-edge vehicles: the Mazda Iconic SP, a compact electric sports car concept that supports multiple clean energy sources, and the Mazda6e, Mazda’s first-ever fully electric BEV. Mazda is also debuting the New Mazda2 Essential, a popular passenger car known for its exceptional value and contemporary design, with an attractive starting price of just 529,000 THB. Adding to the excitement is the New Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition, a special edition of the legendary roadster celebrating 35 years of driving joy—on display and open for reservations during the show. Mazda invites everyone to experience these exciting innovations and take advantage of exclusive offers at the Mazda booth from March 26 to April 6, 2025, at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
Mr. Thee Permpongpan, President and CEO of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated that this year’s Mazda booth is more special than ever—not only due to its new design but also because Mazda is showcasing two groundbreaking future-oriented vehicles developed under its multi-solution strategy for the very first time in Thailand. Leading the showcase is the Mazda Iconic SP, a compact electric sports car concept powered by electricity generated through a unique dual-rotor rotary engine, which functions as a generator to charge the battery. This innovative platform supports various clean energy sources, emphasizing Mazda’s commitment to carbon neutrality. The vehicle features a low center of gravity, lightweight construction, and a balanced 50:50 weight distribution, staying true to Mazda’s signature Kodo Design philosophy and its vision of creating a seamless connection between driver and car. Still in the development phase, the Iconic SP represents Mazda’s bold ambition to revive the legendary spirit of the rotary-powered sports car, bringing it into the electric era.
The second highlight is the Mazda6e, Mazda’s first fully electric BEV, developed in alignment with the brand’s Multi-solution Technology strategy. This model embodies Mazda’s core identity in every aspect—from its elegant exterior, designed under the Kodo Design – Soul of Motion philosophy, to its hallmark powerful driving performance and 50:50 weight distribution. Equipped with an 80 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Mazda6e delivers an impressive driving range of up to 552 kilometers. It also features FAST CHARGE technology, enabling the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in as little as 15 minutes, ensuring maximum convenience for everyday use. True to Mazda’s Jinba-ittai philosophy and human-centric design approach, the Mazda6e offers a driving experience that is both engaging and intuitively connected—just like every other Mazda that has earned global acclaim for delivering driving joy and thoughtful innovation.
In addition to the two highlight concept models, Mazda also unveiled the New Mazda2 Essential at the event. This refreshed model brings bold personality and versatile functionality to match every driving lifestyle. The Mazda2 Essential is available in four newly introduced variants, each designed to meet different customer needs. The PRIME variant offers the “best value” as the entry-level model, powered by a 1.3-liter SKYACTIV-G petrol engine and equipped with a full suite of standard features. The ULTRA variant provides “maximum comfort”, packed with convenience technologies and intelligent functions that align with every aspect of modern living. The SIGNATURE variant stands out as the “most complete” option, available in two configurations: the 1.3 Signature with a petrol engine, and the XDL Signature powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Designed with a refined yet accessible price point, the Mazda2 Essential starts at just 529,000 THB, making it an attractive option for customers seeking value, performance, and style in one compact package.
That’s not all—Mazda has also brought its latest icon to the spotlight with the debut of the New Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition, giving fans in Thailand the chance to experience and own this legendary roadster. This limited-edition model features exclusive design elements that celebrate the legacy of the MX-5 in every detail. It comes in a special Artisan Red Premium exterior color, proudly bears the 35th Anniversary Edition emblem, and includes unique features such as embroidered headrests, custom floor mats, and a serial number displayed on the side of the body—highlighting its status as a true limited edition. For the interior, the car is fitted with premium Sports Tan leather seats, while the power-retractable hardtop, body-colored side mirrors, and 17-inch Bright alloy wheels complete its sophisticated look.
