OMODA & JAECOO Leverage Parent Brand Chery to Expand Thai Market

OMODA & JAECOO are moving forward with their expansion into the Thai market, following the success of the OMODA C5 EV and JAECOO 6 EV. They are also launching the latest JAECOO 7 SHS plug-in hybrid SUV, which features Super HEV + EV technology derived from Chery Automobile’s third-generation hybrid technology. Recently, Chery introduced three models to test the market.

Mr. Qi Jie, President of OMODA & JAECOO (Thailand), stated, “The past success of OMODA & JAECOO in the Thai market has strengthened our confidence in the potential of Thailand’s automotive market. This has been a key factor in our decision to fully introduce the Chery brand, our parent company, into the Thai market this year. We are committed to providing high-quality new energy vehicles (NEVs) with advanced automotive technology that meets the needs of all Thai consumers.”

He highlighted the debut of the JAECOO 7 SHS, a vehicle that surpasses the limitations of conventional plug-in hybrids. The JAECOO 7 SHS combines the strengths of electric and hybrid cars into a single model, delivering a seamless driving experience. Whether users seek quiet, energy-efficient urban driving or powerful performance for long-distance travel, the JAECOO 7 SHS caters to all needs. This innovation showcases Chery’s product development philosophy, focusing on cutting-edge technology, environmental friendliness, and affordability for modern families. Additionally, Chery emphasizes after-sales service, providing long-term maintenance at lower costs compared to other brands.

“We aim to build trust and reliability with our customers through excellent service and a comprehensive dealer network. The introduction of Chery marks a significant step in expanding the Southeast Asian market. We are ready to leverage our expertise as China’s leading automotive exporter to achieve sustainable success in Thailand. This includes the establishment of a manufacturing plant in Rayong Province, which is set to begin production in the third quarter, further solidifying consumer confidence in Thailand,” he added.

At the Bangkok International Motor Show, Chery will unveil three new models for the first time: the Chery Arrizo 8L, a luxury plug-in hybrid sedan; the Chery Tiggo 9, a family-friendly plug-in hybrid SUV; and the Chery Tiggo Cross, a compact hybrid SUV for the new generation. Chery’s expansion in Thailand is part of its broader strategy to grow in Southeast Asia, with a focus on building brand trust through the principles of “Green, Technology, Family, Companionship.” The brand emphasizes delivering high-quality products equipped with cutting-edge technology and global safety standards.
