Volvo Car Thailand offers comprehensive options for those interested in electric vehicle technology at the 46th Bangkok International Motor Show by launching the latest Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid, a 7-seat SUV with the latest design both inside and outside, along with the unveiling of the Volvo EX90, a 100% electric car with 6 seats.

In the event, Volvo Car Thailand has launched the all-time favorite plug-in hybrid, the Volvo XC90, which has been significantly revamped, but still comes with a premium, comfortable ride and passenger, and improved safety. The new contemporary exterior includes a larger front grille with a new diagonal chrome pattern, a new 3D Volvo Iron mark badge, and a distinctive slimmer Thor’s Hammer headlights with Matrix-design LED technology providing brighter and farther light than before. The front bumper comes with a vertical design on side air intake and a slender horizontal at the lower part of the bumper. The front hood has been sculpted to match the new look of the car to level up its contemporary look, and the rear comes with darker taillights by replacing all the chrome interior parts with black, making the vertical lines of the unique design more visible and giving XC90 a modern look.

In term of interior, the XC90 is equipped with an upgraded infotainment system with an intuitive interface, similar to the ones found in fully 100% electric vehicles such as the EX30 and the EX90. 

The large, frameless vertically installed 11.2-inch touchscreen comes with higher resolution enhances the user experience and unlocks a range of new features, apps, and regular over-the-air software updates. Additionally, the redesigned console offers more storage space, including a new 2+1 cupholder, while the wireless phone charger has been relocated behind the central tunnel for improved convenience. The model also comes with a premium audio system — Bowers & Wilkins, with 19 Hi-Fi speakers, and 19 separate hi-fi speakers that deliver 1,410 watts of power.

The Volvo XC90 is powered by Drive-E 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine and electric motor, delivering a combined maximum power of 462 Hp, a combined maximum torque of 709 Nm, an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, and with a top speed of 180 km/h. The model comes with plug-in hybrid power paired with an 18.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering maximum driving range of 76.7 kilometers per charge. This ability could also be extended further when combined with the petrol engine. The XC90 offers a comfortable ride with air suspension system. Each individual damper could be adapt mechanically to current road conditions. It works with the chassis at a frequency of 500 times per second to ensure the better driving quality, stability, and cornering, as well as provide the driver greater confidence and comfort for all occupants.
